We believe that active participation in sports, cultural, social affairs and various hall functions can provide chances for Starrians to gain knowledge, skills and positive attitudes to overcome challenges and make a difference in the society.
Starr Hall, located at the Jockey Club Student Village 1, was first established in 2001. Funded by a generous donation from the Starr Foundation of AIG Inc.This 24-storey tall building caters to 500 male and female students with accommodations to both local and international students, and the largest residential building in all of HKU. We aim to provide chances for hallmates to explore their identity and what they can achieve through experiencing the different elements of hall life.
We place emphasis on hallmates actively understanding social issues, participating in diversed activities and exchanging ideas with one another. We hope that such a hall life can let Starrians develop a lifelong sense of global citizenship - a respect for differences and a passionate belief in equality and harmony.
